“Imagine you were there that night in Bethlehem when Baby Jesus was born...what gifts would you have brought to Baby Jesus?"
This was the Advent project was challenge given to the second graders. In just two weeks' time, using allowance money, gift money, as well as chauffeuring and shopping with parents, the children gathered up 33 bundles of baby clothing! Among the brand new items, as well as gently used items, there was an assortment of footie pajamas, onesies, blankets, and adorable outfits ranging in sizes from infant to 6X. These lovingly collected items were donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Monica Church, where the children also presented a beautiful prayer service. We are so proud of our wonderful children, and so grateful to their loving families who helped them live out the true spirit of Christmas!

During Advent, Mrs. Korbey’s third grade class decided that “it is better to give than to receive.” They have generously chosen to donate to World Vision’s Heifer International. The Heifer Organization helps impoverished families worldwide. They work in the areas of livestock and agriculture to develop programs that alleviate hunger and poverty. The third grade raised $270 and Heifer doubled their donation to $540. The children carefully selected the following items: two pigs, ten fruit trees, six rabbits and two flocks which include baby chicks, ducks and geese. We are very proud of their generosity which is the true meaning of Christmas.
